St. Brendan’s Outdoor Learning Excursion

What a fabulous day we all had on our whole school outdoor learning excursion. Connecting with nature has huge benefits for our wellbeing, and the smiles on everyone’s faces said it all.

We started the day with a visit to Special Effects Nursery, Barangarook, where students were able to smell and taste various plants, many of them used in indigenous bush cooking. A big thank you to Mike and Mandy for showing us around their beautiful nursery and for teaching us so much about extraordinary plants in our world.

We then set up camp at Birnum Station and completed in a variety of bush activities.

Today we enhanced our curiosity, wonder and awe, knowledge of the bush and our connection to nature. We went home dirty, wet, muddy, tired and very happy. Outdoor learning - we love it!

A big thank you to Miss Alice for organising the day and to everybody who was able to come along.
